We love working and building relationships with local companies, where your colleagues are willing to offer their passion, interest and skills to support us.

In recent years, Corporate Volunteering, has gained momentum. It’s an effective way for companies to support a local charity, while improving teamwork, wellbeing, productivity and morale at work. Corporate volunteering is also known as ‘give-back’ days. The extra media coverage could escalate your brand.

Motability Operations corporate volunteers joyfully playing uno with Paul's Place members

Here are some of the ways your company can get involved with us at Paul’s Place.

  • Volunteering – visit and spend a day with us. Witness our staff at work and get stuck into our many duties at Paul’s Place from gardening to supporting a wide range of lively activities.

Motability supports those receiving mobility allowance to choose the right vehicle for their transport needs.

Jodie Hawkins from Motability, said, “Ross and I had the opportunity to come along and volunteer for a day at Paul’s Place. We were treated as one of the members and had the best day ever! Paul’s Place is full of so much fun, happiness and some of the most competitive Uno players we’ve ever met! The staff are out of this world, the attention to detail and energy levels are unmatched. We learnt so much on our visit. We are very much looking forward to coming back soon.”

  • Sponsorship – Many companies felt massively inspired to sponsor us after spending a day at Paul’s Place to continue their ongoing relationship.

Vaultex is a leading cash handling company, who regularly chose us for its give back days.

Corporate volunteer, Victoria-Ann, says, “we thoroughly enjoy volunteering at Paul’s Place, and we would like to fundraise for a new skittles set. We look forward to coming back soon.”

  • Staff Wellbeing – Research shows that volunteering improves wellbeing, reduces stress and depression and increases confidence. Your staff will feel valued and appreciated at work when you give them paid leave to volunteer during work hours. This means, your staff will feel more engaged at work the more you encourage them to volunteer.

Trident Building Consultancy is a building surveying and project management company, working across the UK and Ireland.

The wonderful team from Trident Building Consultancy Ltd spent its group volunteer day with us. They did a brilliant job of clearing our old storage sheds, organising and taking them apart. A job like would take us weeks, trying to grab a few minutes here and there while running our day service. Trident Building Consultancy got it done in a day. We cannot thank them enough.

Director, Daniel Brooks-Dowsett, said, “it was a real pleasure to help Paul’s Place in a small way and also to meet your team who were all extremely welcoming and good fun. We genuinely enjoyed the day, and we’re glad that it has helped your brilliant charity. Thank you on behalf of Trident’s Bristol team.”

  • Gift in Kind – Traditional holidays and celebrations, such as Christmas and Easter, offers a golden opportunity to advertise a raffle to raise money for Paul’s Place. This is only made possible through your donated gifts.

A huge thank you to Lions Club at Chipping Sodbury, they donated a 1kg hand poured Belgian chocolate Easter egg, which went on to raise £300 for our small and independent charity!

As a corporate volunteer at Paul’s Place, here are some of the benefits of getting involved with us:

  • Colleagues build new skills, apply their existing skills in new ways while working better as a team through their improved relationships with each other.

Corporate volunteer, Charlie, from Vaultex cash handling company says, “every month my work allows a day to volunteer for a charity we love. I chose Paul’s Place, and now I volunteer for the small charity in my spare time, as my contribution feels very rewarding. My wife noticed how happy I am after I spend a day at Paul’s Place, and she’s inspired to get involved as well. The staff and volunteers are great at talking, listening and entertaining the members. I offer my help by making drinks, supporting the activities in its day facility, chatting with the members and getting to know them. I feel very belonged and welcomed by everyone at Paul’s Place, a small charity with a big heart.”

If you feel inspired

Did you know the latest estimates from 2021/22 indicates 16 million people in the UK had a disability. That’s almost a quarter of the population. Statistically, over 80% of disabled people acquire disability later in life. Fewer than 20% were born with disability. Your company could go a long way to support physically disabled adults to have opportunities and live their life to the full, especially when the unexpected happens.
